You Can’t Beat It by: Avery Osen
As all of you know, Cowley County Community College is home to a lot of great students. I have tried to experience as much as I can through my first semester, but there is so much to do. Along with all the activities offered, of course, the education is top notch and I have nothing but good things to say about this college.
The first and one of the most important things that I would like to say is that the professors here are always on their “A” game and are very experienced at what they do. These teachers aren’t here just to get a paycheck, but are here to help the students learn and succeed, making sure we are ready to move on after we are done here.
I have heard that this is not always the case at bigger schools because focus on the individual is just not possible.
I am a mass communications major and would like to be a news anchor or a sports broadcaster one day. I knew by coming to Cowley, I would get hands on experience enabling me to learn as much as I can while in college. If someone goes to a bigger college, they probably would not get as much experience as I am gaining at Cowley, and if they do, it would probably not be available until their junior or senior year. This is going to hopefully put me way ahead of someone else down the road when I am looking for employment.
I look forward to a great year and a half left that I have here at Cowley. I am going to make the most of it and I know I have a great support system within the school whether it is from classmates, staff, or faculty.
Go Tigers!
