Large turnout for Tri County Tiger Classic Golf Scramble
A team of Wellington golfers took advantage of a beautiful day at the Wellington Golf Club to capture the fourth annual Tri County Tiger Classic on Saturday.
The team of Grayson Dejarnett, Chaney Stall, Austin Treft, and Dillion Cypert won the event by finishing three shots better than the second place team of Mitch Spencer, Tim Hilario, Mike Williams, and Aaron Hollins.
The team of Joe Frank, Cody Riggs, Adam Ricke, and Blake Bales placed third, while there were also on-course contests for longest putt and closest to the pin.
“It was a great day of golf,” Cowley athletic director Shane Larson said. “Thanks to Jan Grace for helping put together one of our largest turnouts in four years. I also want to thank our sponsors and community members for supporting Cowley College.”
The funds from the golf tournament will go towards a Foundation Scholarship for Cowley College’s Wellington Campus.
Tournament sponsors were, Panhandle Federal Credit Union, Impact Bank, Simplot Partners, KanOkla, Tect Aerospace, and RCB Bank of Wellington.
Those donating prizes to the event were, Rubbermaid, College Town Sports, the Cowley College Bookstore, Elite Advertising, and the Wellington Golf Club.
