Cowley College awards scholarships to students from 10 schools
The Student Services Department at Cowley College has awarded scholarships to the following students.
From Arkansas City Christian Academy: Andrew Potter, son of Kelli Potter, is the recipient of a Derek Burroughs Memorial Scholarship and a Bob and Helen Storbeck Endowed Scholarship. At Ark City Christian Academy, he was involved in basketball, soccer, and track. He plans to be a paramedic/EMT major.
From Arkansas City High School: Lane Bruce, son of Tracy and Shannon Bruce, is the recipient of a Duck Dash 2010 Foundation Scholarship. He plans to major in welding.
Abby Weston, daughter of Matthew Weston, is the recipient of a Don and Wilda Patterson Trust Foundation Scholarship. At ACHS, she was involved in softball and choir. She plans to major in psychology.
From Bishop Carroll High School: Ashley Huslig, daughter of Darren and Rene Huslig, is the recipient of a Hall of Scholars Scholarship. At Bishop Carroll, she participated in tennis, basketball, soccer, yearbook, and health academy. She received an Outstanding Achievement Award and was named to the Academic All-State Team. She plans to major in pre-nursing.
From Central-Burden High School: Tristan Corbett, daughter of Letha Mitchell, is the recipient of a Donald and Wilda Patterson Trust Foundation Scholarship. At Central-Burden, she was involved in band, choir, honor band, honor choir, cheer, Student Council, the National Honor Society, and was Miss Atlanta 2016. She plans to major in biology.
From Clearwater High School: Matthew Cleary, son of Shawn and Jackie Cleary, is the recipient of a Pike Construction Scholarship. At Clearwater, he participated in Drama and as part of the Electric Car Team. He plans to major in mechatronics.
From Derby High School: Bryana Hess, daughter of Shawna Costello, is the recipient of a Shanks Family/Jodi Sanderholm Memorial Scholarship. At Derby, she was involved in Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), National Art Honor Society (NAHS), and Panther Pals. She plans to major in pre-nursing.
From Good Shepherd Christian School: Joyce Bloyer is the recipient of a Hall of Scholars Scholarship. She plans to major in Business, Computer, and Information Technology.
From Penn Foster High School: Tabitha Adams, daughter of John and Cassie Adams, is the recipient of a Carpenter & Vickers Scholarship. At Penn Foster, she was involved in yearbook and special education tutoring. She plans to major in pre-dental hygiene.
From Waukomis (OK) High School: Mattie Rutledge is the recipient of a Rittle and Zang Family Scholarship. At Waukomis, she participated in volleyball, softball, basketball, and was a Teachers Aid. She received an award through her work in Skills USA and plans to major in education.
From Winfield High School: Kyndal Dutton, daughter of Brian and Kim Dutton, is the recipient of a Hubert and Mildred Johnston Foundation Scholarship. At Winfield, she participated in Link Crew, National Honor Society, golf, soccer, dance, and graduated in the top-10 percent in her class. She plans to major in pre-medicine.
